Forget bad memories of Hebrew School.
Is the only thing you remember about your Hebrew School days begging your parents not to make you go?
Think again.
With the exciting and fun learning at Ariel’s Hebrew School program, your children will beg to go back.
Don’t join, just try it out.
You don’t have to become a member of the congregation to participate in the Hebrew School.
You will be amazed at how much your child will learn at Ariel’s Hebrew School. The secret is that the kids are always enjoying themselves so that their minds are open to the learning. Projects, songs and plays are used to teach everything.
Our director is Morah Dena Friedman. Morah (teacher) Dena has been teaching Judaics for years. She handpicks the entire staff to be sure that they reflect her enthusiasm and loving manner of teaching. Boys and Girls ages 5-11 will be placed in age appropriate groups. The teacher to child ratio is kept small to enable each child to grow at their own pace.
At Ariel Hebrew School we firmly believe that Parents Are Teachers Too. Therefore all parents are invited to P.A.T. In these P.A.T. sessions parents will be taught what the children are learning and how parents can enhance the learning by becoming their own children’s teachers. P.A.T. is a project of the National Jewish Outreach Program.
The Curriculum Includes…
HEBREW
Children will learn to read Hebrew, guaranteeing that their Bar/Bat Mitzvah will be properly celebrated. Learning to read Hebrew will mean that they’ll be able to participate in synagogue services whenever and wherever the occasion arises throughout their lives.
JEWISH HOLIDAYS
We believe that Jewish children should be connected to their heritage. The Jewish Holidays- Passover, Chanukah, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Purim, Succot, Shavuot- are all brought to life, with their background and meaning-and observances.
JEWISH VALUES (MIDDOT)
Our program is based on the “Learn and Do” principle. When a Jewish virtue or value is taught, the lesson includes actual involvement. If a class is about kindness, then the lesson will provide children with the opportunity to display kindness in a real-life setting.
LESSONS FROM THE BIBLE (PARSHA)
Children will learn how the lessons they in the weekly Torah parsha (portion) connect to their everyday lives. Our teachers make learning these lessons interesting and fun.
